What we know about Dallas ICE sniper suspect Joshua Jahn
The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn according to authorities. He was found dead at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office on Wednesday, August 24, 2025, at 8:03 PM. The man suspected of the shooting opened fire from a nearby rooftop, killing one detainee and wounding two others in a van. Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed his identity.

'Anti-ICE' messages on casings
There is no word yet on a motive for the suspect. However, FBI officials stated rounds found near him contained messages that are anti-ICE in nature. A recovered shell casing, engraved with the phrase 'ANTI ICE,' was shared by FBI Director Kash Patel. While no officers were injured, the Department of Homeland Security described the shooting as an attack on ICE law enforcement.
